Reason # 4 You May Want To Incorporate:
Asset Protection and To Limit Liability

Asset Protection and limiting liability are one of the main reasons  corporations exist today and have been a powerful business tool for centuries.  This goes all the way back to Admiralty Law and the risk of speculating with merchant sailing ships.   Suffice it to say, it's a long-standing and proven technique for limiting liability and protecting assets.

No matter what business you may be involved in today there are risks,  especially with the current propensity of "suing."  The important point to remember is that the risk of being sued has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you do anything wrong!  With this in mind you may as well get rid of the thought that "If I'm not doing anything wrong I don't need to worry."  Just look at some of the ridiculous lawsuits that people/lawyers file -- and win!  (Remember McDonalds and the hot coffee?!?)

If you're operating a home-based business in cooperation with one of the successful network marketing companies, you have tapped into a success model that is proven and works.  Consider:  That MLM company you're working has attorneys that are working to keep that company safe, and to a degree, to keep you safe as well.  Despite that, is it truly the course of wisdom to rely completely on their attorneys to protect you?  Probably not.  Why not add a layer of protection with your own corporation?  Maybe nothing bad will happen.  But what if you become a very successful distributor with your network marketing company and then something goes south with the company or the product?  You may be a target of your own downline, because you were the one who introduced them to -- and coached them into -- the business.  It's just not worth the risk, is it?

We don't mean to be "glass-half-empty" kind of people.  We have just found that it's easier to be the "glass-half-full" sort when we have less exposure, and consequently, less risk.  It makes life and business more enjoyable.

Remember, too, that used properly, with no intent to defraud or in anyway hurt anyone, these are the legitimate tools that the government has put in place to spur business growth and success.  So there is really no reason not to take full and complete advantage of them of these tools!
